David Berridge and Hyun Jin Cho Friday 24 July 2009, 19:30hrs Plan 9, Bridewell Street, Bristol
This two part performance lecture re-works an article in Frieze to create a micro-exhibition, a performance lecture, a film, and a photo-novel. It enacts a dissent-ing methodology of the oblique and the indirect, refusing the articles original context to create an expanded meditation on the utility and social relevance of experimental writing and art practices, whilst also exploring the non-art 'art' activity to be found in the streets of London, Hanoi, Berlin, Paris and Seoul. The second part of the evening will present the results of a two-day mini-residency at Plan 9, where Berridge and Cho, having worked with the texts and images of their own lecture will see if they can provide a dissent-ing methodology for exploring Bristol. > Part of Summer of Dissent
